Dr. Fort specializes in neonatology with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Maternal, Fetal & Neonatal Institute, where he is Chair of its research council. He has ongoing single and multicenter trials on management of respiratory outcomes, including writing the protocol for an NIH-funded trial for the use of caffeine at home for apnea in preterm infants. He is also an advocate for research education and serves as a mentor to residents and fellows. Dr. Fort’s research focus includes respiratory management of premature infants, control of breathing, and apnea of premature, specifically as it relates to its management with caffeine.
Dr. Fort entered the world of social media in 2020, developing a presence and large following on YouTube and Instagram as "The NICU Doc." His channel focuses on medical education through social media, and he has a wealth of knowledge managing multiple media platforms. He not only gives talks worldwide on his research, but also on the impact of social media education and how to develop your brand for health professionals.
