Pamela Harris-Haman, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC is an Assistant Professor in the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Harris-Haman earned her DNP and MSN from Stony Brook University in New York, a certificate as an NNP from Georgetown and her BSN from Penn State. She has traveled extensively to Africa and has an interest in global health. She has worked with hospitals and universities in Kenya, Sierra Leone and Zambia. Her goal is to help low resource areas improve education for nurses and improve care for neonates and their families. Her research centers on creating collaborative care models for pregnant women with opiate use disorder, by providing education, appropriate community resources, and postnatal followup for mother and baby.
