Kelley Thompson started as a NICU nurse 16 years ago and has been a NNP for the past 11 years. She received her BSN from Purdue University and her MSN from Rush University. She works as a Nurse Practitioner at Community Hospital in Munster Indiana that is a 32 bed level III NICU. You might have seen her hosting NANN Connections that were hosted from 2020-2022 during the Pandemic. Kelley has shared her tips to “Surviving your first year in the NICU” on NANN NICU knowledge Share Series on You Tube. Kelley gave birth to her first child 11 years ago, she was born at 37 +5 days and had to be airlifted to a level IV NICU for body cooling, and spend 15 days in the NICU. Kelley feels that she can now relate to parents and the emotions that are going through during their NICU stay. She loved being able to go on the NANN Delegation in 2023 to Abu Dhabi and Dubai and learned so much about the culture and their NICU worlds. During her free time Kelley enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, and also is a Girl Scout Troop leader for her daughter.
