Susan Luparell is a Professor at Montana State University Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing, where she has been involved in both the baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs since 1997. She is a nationally recognized speaker and author on the topic of cultivating more civil environments in nursing and nursing education and has authored chapters on this topic in several leading nursing education textbooks. Her scholarship focuses on the ethical implications of incivility, including how it affects others and how it can be managed in academic as well as in clinical settings. Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bradley University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, and a doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Administration, Curriculum, and Instruction with an emphasis in Higher Education. Susan’s clinical expertise is in adult cardiovascular and critical care nursing. Prior to moving into academia, she practiced as Clinical Nurse Specialist in the acute care setting.
