Sheila M. Gephart, PhD, RN, FAAN

Dr. Gephart is a professor at The University of Arizona in Tucson. Dr. Gephart has been an active board member for Advances in Neonatal Care (ANC) since 2011 and a section editor for the Evidence-Based Reviews section since 2014. In these roles, she provides active review of manuscripts, shepherds authors through the revision process, and is active in selection of authors for journal awards. Along with authoring editorials for ANC and mentoring her students and graduates in the process, she has also published several manuscripts in ANC, many being highly cited. Her 2012 state of the science on Necrotizing Enterocolitis has been cited more than 300 times and is one of the most cited articles in ANC. In 2016, Dr. Gephart provided the keynote presentation at the National Association of Neonatal Nursing research summit in Scottsdale, Arizona. Since 2012, she has served on the Research and Evidence Based Practice Council at Banner University Medical Center-Tucson and as a member of Banner Nursing Research & Evidence Based Practice System-wide Advisory Board since 2015.
